An industry first solution to help you achieve H1 compliance

An industry first solution to help you achieve H1 compliance

The only BRANZ appraised double layer polyester insulation system

The second round of changes being made to the H1 energy efficiency clause are coming this May. One of the areas of particular focus is the increase for ceilings in residential buildings to now achieve a minimum R-value of 6.6. This has led to the need for alternative insulation solutions to achieve H1 compliance.

To meet these new requirements, we have introduced the use of a double layer system. When using a double layer of GreenStuf Thermal Ceiling Insulation R3.4, you can achieve an insulation R value of 6.8, hence allowing you to meet the minimum R6.6 required in ceilings. This performance has been appraised by BRANZ and makes GreenStuf the first BRANZ appraised double layer polyester insulation system in the New Zealand market.

We rigorously test our products to ensure they can meet the demands of the New Zealand building codes and requirements of such varied climate zones. While there has been some concern around double layer systems not achieving a double R value, we can prove that this is not the case. Our BRANZ appraisal documents are a clear indicator of this, showing the robust testing that we have gone through to meet these high standards.
